Statement of Commitment to Child Safety

At DEBASCA, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our top priority. We are committed to creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where all children feel respected, valued and protected.

We believe every child has the right to feel safe and to be safe at all times. We support children to express themselves, be heard, and grow in a space that celebrates diversity and promotes a strong sense of belonging.

As part of our commitment to child safety, we will:

• Make child safety part of everything we do – in our programs, our policies and our daily routines.

• Support our staff with training and clear guidelines to keep children safe.

• Never tolerate any form of child abuse or harm.

• Listen to children and take their concerns seriously.

• Work closely with families and the community to create a safe and supportive environment for every child.

DEBASCA is a not-for-profit community organisation, managed by a volunteer parent committee and supported by a skilled team of early childhood professionals. We believe that keeping children safe is everyone’s responsibility – and that together, we can create a place where all children thrive.
