Accreditation and National Quality Framework

From 1 January 2012, DEBASCA came under the National Quality Framework (NQF). The NQF includes the National Law and Regulations, the National Quality Standard, the assessment and quality ratings process, and the national learning framework (school aged framework is called 'My Time, Our Place').

The Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) is the national authority that that supports governments in administering the NQF for children’s education and care services.

The NQF provides a national approach to regulation, assessment and quality improvement for early childhood education and care and outside school hours care services across Australia.

The National Quality Standard (NQS) sets a high national benchmark for early childhood education and care and outside school hours care services in Australia. It includes seven Quality Areas that are important to outcomes for children. Services are assessed and rated by their regulatory authority against the NQS and receive a rating for each of the seven Quality Areas, as well as an overall rating based on these results.

During our assessment in 2015, DEBASCA achieved a service rating of Exceeding, with Exceeding in all seven Quality Areas.

In 2020, we were assessed again and maintained our Exceeding service rating, with Exceeding in all seven Quality Areas.

At our most recent assessment in 2023, we once again achieved an Exceeding service rating across all seven Quality Areas.

We remain committed to the principle of continuous quality improvement.
